In order to be the best leader you can be at home, work, school and in your community, you have to be a leader of one. That one is yourself. Leadership charges you with being able to effectively use resources wisely to be the most productive and the most profitable. So are you leading yourself well? Are you managing all of the talents, education, networks, abilities and skills that you have so that they are maximized in your own life? This post gives you tips to get your life on course, TODAY!
Passion is the Fuel One of my favorite things to do is to coach a passionate person on how to flesh out a path to success. One of my least favorite things is to talk with someone wanting success, but they don’t have the passion to make the dream happen. So first, let’s really understand what passion is. Passion isn’t a hope of doing something. Passion is the energy/fuel to do something. Passion is the gas that fuels your dreams. I have heard many people say I want to “do my passion”, but you have to have “passion for what you want to do”, if you truly want to be successful.
Passion is the gas that fuels your dreams.
Course Correct Because of bills, family, location, fear, etc… it is easy to give up on something that you really felt was a goal or dream. You have felt passionate about starting your own business, but the barrier to entry was too high (or so you thought). Barriers like not having enough money, being too old, or not having enough experience are only barriers if you allow them to be. If you turned away from a dream, it is time to course correct.
Just like on a road trip, the longer you wait before you make the turn around, the further you have to go back, and the longer it will take for you to get where you want to be. Make this moment the day you get on the right road.
The longer you wait before you course correct, the longer it will take for you to get where you want to be.
Navigate your Success I travel a lot with work, and I can’t tell you the number of times I have rented a car at the airport, put the address I am going to in my GPS and headed out. When I follow the directions, most times I get where I am going. On the rare occasion I have put in the wrong address (like that time in DC I lost almost 2 hours because I went to K St. NW instead of K St. SW ). Even then, once I found out what I did wrong, I put the right address in, and headed to my destination (see course correct). It is the same for our lives. Everyone needs a roadmap or vision plan to chart a good life course. Of course you can live without one, just like you can drive without directions… but why would you want to?
Create a Vision Plan to chart the best course for your life.
Ask For Directions Most of us get directions before we head out into the unknown, and if we are lost, we ask for help along the way. So why aren’t you doing that with your life? How do you get to the life that you are trying to get to without directions and a map to success? Worse yet, to see that you have ended up in the wrong place in life, yet not do what it takes to course correct and get back on path would be dangerous if you were traveling, it is equally as dangerous to having a well lived life.
The good news is you don’t have to live a life that is lost, confused or not going the way that you had hoped it should go. It is so easy to get caught up doing things that take us farther from our goals. Yet, here’s the thing, you don’t have to keep driving in the wrong direction! You can get directions and a roadmap to the life you want. I am doing a Free called:

Absolutely Nijah! Without the passion to do what you’re supposed to do, not only does it take you longer to reach your goals but it’s so easy to get distracted and discouraged.
